Food stamps have to love them.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, last month, I applied at our local Family Services for Food Stamps. Yesterday, I got both the PIN and the card itself. My father and I went to Wal Mart to buy groceries for us and for my older brother Dingbat. That was my first time using the card itself, we spent only $25 out of our own pocket, the rest of the groceries were paid by the Food Stamp card.

My dad was shocked by this and when my friend who pushed me to apply came over, he thanked her for giving me the idea to apply as now it will indeed help us out in the pocket book when it comes to groceries as what we would have spent last night in groceries would have been over $90, all dad had to pay was about 25 dollars.

I really see the beneficial use of a Food Stamp card as if you don't have enough funds from your paycheck to buy food, cover the rent, the utilities, you will need help. Yes, we also raid the local Food Pantries but we give most of that to the church's food pantry as its usually expired food like pasta, which I have ate before and ended up getting sick from. But some of the stuff we do keep and some we donate and some we simply throw away.

But I'm really glad to have a Food Stamp card now. It will be easier on my pocket book, just have to keep an eye on the amount each time I use it.
