This is Bill Shoemaker, the famous racehorse jockey at Del Mar.
This photo was taken by my mom as he was signing his autobiography that he wrote. My mom and I were jockey groupies back in the 80's, we would go to the tracks and watch the jockeys and the horses but mainly the jockeys got called by us to sign a huge black book filled with newspaper clippings of them or the race booklet that we get when we enter the track each day. We had a blast there and had great memories. |
